Health & Safety Policy
At GlowwithKopi, the health and safety of our clients and staff is our top priority. Please read the following policies before your appointment.
We reserve the right to refuse or modify services if the scalp or surrounding skin shows signs of infection, infestation (such as head lice), open wounds, or severe irritation.
This is not a personal judgement โ it is to protect your health and prevent the spread of infection to others.
We recommend consulting a doctor before booking if you have an existing scalp or skin condition.
If your hair is severely damaged or has existing chemical treatments or extensions, some services may require a consultation, patch test or alternative approach before your appointment can proceed.
Previously over-processed or chemically treated hair can react unpredictably. GlowwithKopi is not liable for breakage or damage caused by pre-existing hair condition or undisclosed previous treatments.
Please inform us of any known allergies or skin sensitivities before your appointment, particularly to hair dye (including PPD), bleach, keratin or smoothing products, adhesives, or fragrance.
A patch test is recommended before any colour service and can be arranged prior to your appointment.
GlowwithKopi is not liable for reactions arising from undisclosed allergies.
We kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment if you are feeling unwell, have a contagious illness, or are experiencing flu-like symptoms.
We reserve the right to refuse service to any client who appears visibly unwell, to protect the health of our staff and other clients.
No cancellation fee will apply if you cancel due to illness โ please notify us as early as possible.
All tools and equipment are sterilised or single-use between every client.
Workstations are sanitised before and after each appointment.
Staff follow strict hand hygiene protocols throughout the day.
We use hospital-grade disinfectants on all reusable implements.
Children under 12 must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
For safety reasons, children should not be near workstations where chemicals and sharp implements are in use.
We reserve the right to pause or stop a service if the safety of the child or staff is at risk.
Some hair colour and smoothing products contain chemicals that may not be suitable during pregnancy.
Please inform us if you are pregnant so we can recommend safer alternatives and ensure your comfort throughout the service.
Our salon is ventilated to minimise exposure to chemical fumes.
If you have respiratory sensitivities or asthma, please let us know before your appointment.
A patch test is required at least 48 hours before your first colour service, and is recommended before any bleach, smoothing or keratin treatment.
Please tell us about any previous colouring, bleaching, relaxing or smoothing treatments โ including box dye and henna โ so we can choose a safe approach for your hair.
Results vary by hair type, condition and starting colour. Achieving a dramatic change may take more than one appointment.
Chemical services are not suitable over broken skin or an irritated scalp.
GlowwithKopi is not liable for reactions arising from undisclosed allergies, skin conditions or previous treatments.
By booking an appointment with GlowwithKopi, you acknowledge and agree to these health and safety policies.
